INVESTIGATION FINDINGS

Lake Desolation / Bucci — Institutional Record Search

Independent search across all NYS institutional sources · Updated August 22, 2026

VERDICT
NO PUBLIC INSTITUTIONAL RECORD FOUND

Seven years of independent documentation of a Northeast ocher-extraction locus in northern Saratoga County (Lake Desolation area, Town of Greenfield, ~2,000 ft elevation). Industrial-scale pre-Cambrian iron stone procurement via fire-setting; carbonized depressions; thermal discoloration; pocket-sized 3D stone carving of the mountain finished with ocher. No record found in any NY State institutional source containing “Bucci” in connection with Lake Desolation, Saratoga County, or any archaeological site report through August 22, 2026.

Legal significance of the institutional silence: Site reports submitted through official channels to NYSM Archaeology/CRSP, OPRHP/SHPO, and the State Archaeologist would normally generate correspondence records held within OPRHP’s non-public Cultural Resources Information System (CRIS). CRIS is not publicly searchable; its records require a formal FOIL request to surface.
